Volunteers of America Colorado vuelve a ofrecer dos sesiones GRATUITAS de una semana de duración de un campamento de verano nocturno para estudiantes de 4.º y 5.º grado en el área metropolitana. Buscamos activamente niños que hayan vivido experiencias infantiles adversas y que hayan demostrado potencial de liderazgo en sus escuelas y comunidades. A lo largo de su semana en el campamento, estos niños verán el liderazgo en acción a través de sus consejeros, todos ellos afiliados a las agencias policiales locales. Desarrollarán sus propias habilidades de liderazgo a través de actividades de formación de equipos, cursos de desafío, reflexiones diarias y más. Nos complace anunciar la Academia de Verano, que se llevará a cabo del 9 de junio al 3 de julio, para estudiantes por debajo y significativamente por debajo del nivel de grado. Este programa mejorará las habilidades matemáticas y de alfabetización al mismo tiempo que fomentará la creatividad y el crecimiento social.
Aspectos destacados del programa:

Friday, April 25 was the last day of CMAS testing for the 2024-2025 school year! Your students did such a great job! A huge appreciation to everyone who supported their children’s success by helping them go to bed early, eat a healthy breakfast and arrive at school on time. Many students expressed making their families proud as one of their primary motivators for performing at their best. We hope you are as proud of them as we are. Thank you, families and students, for always centering mutual support and academic achievement. You are what makes our Bryant Webster community so amazing!

Volunteers of America Colorado is again offering two FREE week-long sessions of overnight summer camp for current 4th and 5th graders in the metro area. We are actively seeking kids who have lived through adverse childhood experience and who have displayed leadership potential in their schools and communities. Throughout their week at camp, these children will see leadership in action through their counselors, all of whom are affiliated with local law enforcement agencies. They’ll build their own leadership skills through team-building activities, challenge courses, daily reflections, and more. All the while experiencing a week in the mountains at the YMCA Estes Park Center facilities. Please see the flyers attached for more information. If you know of any current 4th or 5th graders who would benefit from this type of leadership experience – and who might not otherwise get a chance to attend an overnight summer camp – please nominate them at the link below. We have another clinic opportunity with the Rapids! These are geared towards beginner level soccer athletes, girls & boys, ages 9-12 (your 6th grade students). Each clinic has a maximum of 50 students. These are free, one-hour clinics at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park (surrounding fields) on the below dates. On the form, they will pick their first and second preference for dates. We will follow back up with them to confirm which day they are selected for and to fill out the DPS waiver.

Hello DPS Parents and Guardians, Do you need assistance with applying for benefits on the Colorado Peak website? We will have a benefits specialist available at no cost on Fridays at the NW Hub at Trevista to answer questions and provide application assistance. These consultations are available by appointment only and we have spots available this week! Please sign up 
Clothes to Kids Denver – clothing can change a life
Let me know if students need jackets. We have some in the psych office. We also have some backpacks and other basic needs items like socks, underwear, hygiene kits. If we need more, we will get more. If you have new or lightly used jackets and winter gear to donate, please bring to the psych office.
DPS’ Medicaid Department helps families apply for free or low-cost health insurance, including Health First Colorado (Medicaid) and CHP+ and SNAP food assistance. We offer one-on-one appointments at any DPS school site.
Additionally, we assist families with re-enrollment and utilizing their benefits. If any of your students or anyone you know needs assistance, please contact our Outreach and Enrollment Specialists by calling 720-423-3661 or emailing outreach@dpsk12.org.
