Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant-Webster

El Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant-Webster, the first elementary mariachi group in the Denver Public Schools system, began in January 2004 in order to honor and preserve the culture of mariachi music. Over 250 third through eighth grade students have participated by singing and playing instruments in our after-school mariachi program. All students learn musicianship skills and technique as well as performance skills. In addition, students must dedicate themselves to practicing everyday, attending weekly lessons, and working for the good of the group. The students who participate in the mariachi are expected to maintain their grades at high levels, complete their homework, and model good citizenship.

El Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant Webster has performed for the WB2 Culture Parade, the DPS Foundation Gala, the La Raza Youth Leadership Conference, with the Broomfield Civic Orchestra, with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra, with Mariachi Sol de mi Tierra, and national educational conferences throughout Denver. Founded by Pamela Liñan, El Mariachi Juvenil de Bryant-Webster is currently under the direction of Jacqueline Liñan.
