El viernes nos despedimos de Wes “Doc” Montoya. Fue nuestro director interino durante los últimos dos meses. Brian Clark (yo) está oficialmente aquí. Estoy agradecido de tener la oportunidad de servir a esta comunidad INCREIBLE.
A partir del viernes, 8 de septiembre, la entrada principal en Bryant Webster estará cerrada debido a la construcción. Las escaleras principales serán reemplazadas, y se espera que la construcción se complete el viernes 15 de septiembre de 2023. Durante este tiempo, la entrada en el edificio estará disponible a través de las puertas al sur del edificio en la calle 36. Al entrar, por favor asegúrese dirigirse a la oficina para registrarse.
Nos disculpamos por las molestias, pero las nuevas escaleras son necesarias y serán mucho más seguras para todos.
Este año escolar habrá días de salida temprano. Cada primer martes del mes las clases terminarán a la 1:00 pm. Vea el calendario escolar abajo para referencia.
A medida que nos preparamos para el nuevo año escolar, queremos garantizar la seguridad y el bienestar de todos nuestros estudiantes durante las horas de entrada y salida. Con ese fin, nos gustaría compartir alguna información importante y recordatorios de seguridad.
Seguridad en los Cruces Peatonales: Nuestra señora dedicada al cruce de peatones estará presente todas las mañanas en la calle 36 y Shoshone y por la tarde en la calle 36 y Quivas para ayudar a los estudiantes a cruzar la calle con seguridad. Les pedimos a todos los estudiantes y padres que esperen a que ella los guíe antes de cruzar. Esto ayudará a asegurar un cruce fácil y seguro para todos.
Límite de velocidad: El límite de velocidad en nuestra zona escolar se aplica estrictamente. Por favor, sea consciente de su velocidad mientras conduce por la zona de dejar/recoger a los alumnos y las calles cercanas. Reducir la velocidad dará a todos tiempo suficiente para circular por la zona con seguridad.
Proceso Para Dejar al Estudiante: Al dejar a su hijo, le pedimos que estacione su vehículo en las áreas designadas y ayudarles a prepararse para salir del coche. Usted puede dejar a su estudiante (“Beso y Me Voy”) por el estacionamiento de los maestros. Nuestro personal estará a su disposición para ayudar a los alumnos a bajarse de forma segura. Recuerde, su cooperación y paciencia son muy apreciadas durante este proceso.
Entrada al Patio de Recreo: Para mayor seguridad, animamos a los padres a estacionar sus vehículos y acompañar a sus hijos a la zona de juegos. Nuestro personal estará disponible para acompañar a los alumnos al patio de recreo. Esto no sólo garantiza su seguridad, sino que también ayuda a crear un ambiente positivo para el inicio de la jornada escolar.
Valoramos profundamente la seguridad de nuestros estudiantes y agradecemos su cooperación en el seguimiento de estas directrices. Trabajando juntos, podemos garantizar una experiencia de dejar y recoger a los estudiantes de forma segura y sin problemas para todos los implicados.

El miercoles 6 de septiembre de la semana pasada tuvimos un ejercicio de cierre. El personal y los alumnos lo hicieron estupendamente.
Como saben, el Departamento de Seguridad y Vigilancia de las Escuelas Públicas de Denver requiere que las escuelas tengan dos (2) ejercicios de cierre de la escuela al año. Esta carta tiene el propósito de comunicarles que tuvimos un ejercicio de cierre en nuestra escuela esta mañana a las 9:00 AM durante aproximadamente 15 minutos.
La seguridad es la principal prioridad de las Escuelas Públicas de Denver y de la Escuela Bryant-Webster. Como siempre, no duden en ponerse en contacto con nosotros con cualquier pregunta o preocupación. Gracias por su apoyo en mantener a nuestros alumnos a salvo.
Esperamos que todos estén teniendo un maravilloso comienzo del año escolar. A veces puede ser difícil saber si enviar o no a un niño a la escuela cuando no se siente lo mejor posible. Por favor, vea el archivo adjunto para las directrices que DPS utiliza para ayudar a determinar “qué tan enfermo es demasiado enfermo”. Por favor lea ambas columnas cuando busque detalles sobre cuándo mantenerlos en casa y cuándo pueden regresar. También usamos este documento en nuestra oficina de salud para guiar nuestras prácticas cuando evaluamos a los estudiantes que se sienten enfermos.

Por favor, complete el siguiente formulario si está interesado en obtener cuidado antes y después de la escuela para su estudiante de ECE3 o ECE4 este próximo año escolar, 2023-2024. El Programa comenzará la semana del 28 de agosto de 2023.
Los teléfonos celulares no deben ser usados en la escuela, SIN EXCEPCIONES.
TODOS los estudiantes de 6º a 8º que decidan traer un teléfono celular a la escuela deben usar una bolsa Yondr. La política de Yondr incluye un depósito de $25 por adelantado, que será devuelto al final del año a los estudiantes que han mantenido sus bolsas en buenas condiciones.
Pague el depósito de $25 de Yondr a través de la aplicación MySchoolBucks o directamente en la oficina.
LOS ESTUDIANTES SIN TELÉFONO ESTÁN EXENTOS DE ESTE CARGO.
Los estudiantes que no han pagado el depósito de $25 para usar la bolsa de Yondr, una factura será añadida a sus cuentas.

Bryant-Webster también tendrá una clínica de vacunas en el auditorio. La clínica de vacunas estará ofreciendo todo tipo de vacunas incluyendo la vacuna contra la gripe y COVID-19. La clínica de vacunas empezará a las 3:30 p.m.

El entrenador principal de Denver North, John Anderson y su personal se encargarán de las pruebas y de evaluar a cada jugador.
La misión de Vikings Youth Basketball es formar equipos altamente competitivos en cada grado. Los equipos competitivos competirán en la Liga JPS y en la Liga Gold Crown. (Todos los jugadores que no sean seleccionados para un equipo competitivo tendrán la oportunidad de jugar en un equipo recreativo en la Liga JPS).

On Friday we said farewell to Wes “Doc” Montoya. He was our Interim principal for the past two months. Brian Clark (me) is officially here. I am grateful to have the opportunity to serve this AMAZING community.
Starting Friday, September 8th, the front entry at Bryant Webster will be closed due to construction. The front stairs are being replaced, and construction is expected to be completed by Friday, September 15th, 2023. During this time, entry into the building will be available through the South doors of the building on 36th Street.
When entering, please make sure to come up to the office to check in.
This school year there will be early release days. Every first Tuesday of the month, classes will end at 1:00 p.m. See the school calendar below for reference.
Last week on Wednesday, September 6 we had a lockdown practice. The staff and students did amazing!
As you know, the Denver Public Schools Safety and Security Department requires schools to have two (2) lockdown drills per year. This letter is to let you know that we had a lockdown drill at our school this morning at 9:00 AM for approximately 15 minutes.
Safety is a top priority in Denver Public Schools and at Bryant-Webster School. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns. Thank you for your support in keeping our students safe
As we gear up for the new school year, we want to ensure the safety and well-being of all our students during drop-off and pick-up times. To that end, we would like to share some important information and safety reminders.
Crosswalk Safety: Our dedicated crosswalk lady will be present every morning on 36th and Shoshone St and in the afternoon on 36th and Quivas St to assist students in safely crossing the road. We kindly request that all students and parents wait for her guidance before crossing. This will help ensure a smooth and secure crossing for everyone.
Speed Limit: The speed limit in our school zone is strictly enforced. Please be mindful of your speed while driving through the drop-off/Pick-up area and nearby streets. Slowing down will give everyone ample time to navigate the area safely.
Drop-Off Process: When dropping off your child, we ask that you park your vehicle in the designated areas and assist them in getting ready to exit the car. You may drop off your student (Kiss and Go) by the teacher parking lot. Our staff will be on hand to help students disembark safely. Remember, your cooperation and patience are greatly appreciated during this process.
Playground Entry: For added safety, we encourage parents to park their vehicles and accompany their children to the playground area. Our staff will be available to guide students into the playground. This not only ensures their safety but also helps create a positive atmosphere for the start of the school day.
We deeply value the safety of our students and appreciate your cooperation in following these guidelines. By working together, we can ensure a secure and smooth drop-off and pick-up experience for everyone involved.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful start to the school year. Sometimes it can be challenging to know whether or not to send a child to school when they aren’t feeling their best. Please view the attachment for the guidelines DPS uses to help determine “how sick is too sick”. Please scroll through and read both columns when you’re looking for details about when to keep them home and when they can return. We also use this document in our health office to guide our practices when evaluating students who feel sick.
We work closely with the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment to report designated conditions (like COVID) and follow their guidance in managing the overall health of our students and staff.

Please fill out the following form if you are interested in getting care before and after school hours for your ECE3 or ECE4 student this upcoming school year, 2023-2024. The Program will begin the week of August 28, 2023.
Cell phones are not to be used at school, NO EXCEPTIONS.
ALL 6th-8th students who choose to bring a cell phone to school must use a Yondr pouch. The Yondr policy includes a $25 deposit upfront, which will be returned at the end of the year to students who have kept their pouches in good condition.
Pay the $25 Yondr deposit through the MySchoolBucks app or directly at the office.
STUDENTS WITH NO PHONE ARE EXEMPT FROM THIS CHARGE.
For students who have not paid the $25 deposit to use the Yondr Bag, an invoice will be added to their accounts.
Note: In order to graduate from High School, students must have a balance of $0 on their accounts.

The Back-to-school night will allow the teachers to show the families what their children will learn during the school year. This event is also an opportunity for families to connect with their child’s teacher and discover ways to engage with their child’s education. The Back-to-school night will start at 4:00 p.m. The entrance will be at the west entrance, by the blacktop. See map below.
Bryant-Webster will also have a vaccine clinic in the auditorium. The vaccine clinic will be offering all types of vaccines including flu vaccine and COVID-19. The vaccine clinic will start at 3:30 p.m.

Denver North Head Boys’ Basketball Coach John Anderson and his staff will run the tryouts and evaluate each player.
The mission of Vikings Youth Basketball is to form highly competitive teams at each grade level. The competitive teams will compete in either the JPS League or the Gold Crown League. (All players who are not selected for a competitive team will have an opportunity to play on a rec team in the JPS League).
